week 6
After the last feedback, I realised my project was a bit too complicated and had too many different visual ideas mixed together, like lenticular and receipts, but the main focus wasn’t very clear. So I decided to simplify its form.I thought this would allow me to organise my ideas more clearly and guide the viewer step by step.
I was looking at references like yuni yoshida‘s work and Manovich‘s ‘Cultural Analytics’ , I was really interested in how they use repetition and removal to talk about image and memory. That inspired me to experiment with cutting parts of the image and also collecting and repeating similar food images, to show how these images are consumed again and again.
So overall, I combined these methods into a three-chapter publication. Each chapter focuses on a different stage — from fragmented attention, to repeated image consumption, and finally to interacting with the image itself and hidden costs and labour. It becomes a way to visualise how our relationship with food shifts in digital culture.
feedback:
- difficult to understand argument
- graphic design publication(now), clear conceptual experience(what I need)
- lean into the tablemat format (ripped off and screwed up and thrown…)
- public engagement!!
