week3
My project is about breakfast and focuses more on the ritual of breakfast. Firstly, I investigated the origins of ‘breakfast’ and some of the changes in its status in life, such as the disappearance of breakfast for religious reasons at some point in history. and later on it became a symbol of status and position. Nowadays, breakfast is eaten by different groups of people, some of whom ignore it, some of whom eat it on the go, and some of whom eat a balanced diet.
The ‘Breakfast Ritual’ time means: The liminal time between waking and entering the ‘productive’ part of the day
My main question: Through researching contemporary “breakfast rituals”, to explore how people construct their identity, regulate their psychological state and start their day through symbolic acts between waking up and entering the “productive” part of the day, thus revealing the relationship between contemporary lifestyle and identity.
I mimicked this menu format by writing a guided tour of the breakfast ritual process of my family.

Feedback:
1.’Why would someone be interested in your family’s rituals?’
How can you let others see themselves in your family story, or compare it to their culture? From private experience to public values
2. Some elements are confusing
3. Clarify the positioning of this project.“Who is your audience? Are you making it for your family, or for others?”
